We are looking for a highly-collaborative software developer who is motivated and interested in building applications and services in modern, functional programming paradigms. This role will be creating reactive e-commerce microservices to deliver mission critical business solutions. Specifically, you will create, implement, and maintain the necessary components and services for LifeWay's core ecommerce shopping site, LifeWay.com, as well as a Lite Checkout version serving other modern, sophisticated digital apps: MinistryGrid.com, SmallGroup.com and more. You will work independently while also participating in a very collaborative environment with teammates from various backgrounds coming together to solve challenging problems as a team. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality is important.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and codes technical solutions for back-end architectures
  • Provides test plan, script support, unit test support, and UAT testing support
  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical problems
  • Develops and executes plans for system and network implementations, maintenance, enhancements, and configuration changes
  • Develops and improves relationships with internal customers and other divisional teams
  • Collaborates with internal and external departments to accomplish various tasks and projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related degree
  • 3-5 years of experience with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) languages

Preferred Experience

  • Scala experience preferred
  • Agile experience (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Git, github experience
  • AWS (Amazon Web Services) or other cloud technology experience
  • Exposure to Message-driven or Event-driven architecture
  • Written and verbal communication - Advanced
  • Analytical skills - Advanced
  • Problem solving skills - Advanced
